Liberation Festival

Every May, the city of Plzeň steps back into May 1945. The Liberation Festival commemorates Western Bohemia’s release from Nazi occupation by General Patton’s U.S. 16th Armored Division. Decades later, cobblestone streets fill with vintage military convoys, historic uniforms, and solemn tributes, honoring the enduring bond between the city, its liberators, and the memory of freedom.
